Charles Frederick Worth

   In the late 1800s, an English man named Charles Frederick Worth produced his first designs in Paris, France.  Worth become the first designer to have is label sewn in the germents that he created.

Worth later began to use live models to show off his designs at the House Of Worth.  Worth came up with the first Fashion show where he had his model present his designes.  Worth was the first designer to present a seasonal collection.

Worth is known to many as The Father Of Haute Couture. 

The Empress Eugénie by Franz Xaver Winterhalter in 1854, housed at The Metropolitan Museum of Art.

The 18th century dress was created by Charles Frederick Worth.  The Empress was Worths most important patron.
