Coco Chanel

   Coco Chanel was a French fashion designer from the 1900s.  Coco was tought to sew by the nuns in the orphanage where she lived after her mothers death.

In 1909, Coco Chanel created her fashion company Chanel.   Chanel started her company off my selling hats, but as her business grow she added more stores in other place like Deauville and Biarritz and began to make clothing.

 

   In the 1920s, Chanel created her very first perfume, Chanel No. 5.

Chanels perfume was the first to feature a designers name.

In 1925, Chanel created her suits, with collarless jackets and fited skirts. Chanels suits were borrowed elements from men's clothing.  Chanel put an end to women wearing corsets and garments.

 

Coco Chanel died january 10, 1971, Paris France, but her legacy and her company still lives on.
